Farming & Watershed Management

More crop per drop

Support this cause

Many farming families depend on rain, and uncertain rainfall puts their harvest and income at risk. We work with farmers and village committees to capture rainwater, restore soil and adopt farming practices that cost less and grow more.

The challenge

[1–2 verified facts about this issue in our area, with source — e.g. Central Ground Water Board data for the district]

What we do
  • Watershed development: check dams, farm ponds, contour trenches and recharge pits
  • Desilting and restoring village ponds and tanks
  • Soil testing and natural and organic farming practices
  • Support for drip and sprinkler irrigation
  • Farmer training, demonstration plots and farmer producer organisations (FPOs)
  • Help for farmers to access government schemes, crop insurance and markets
